About Me

My name is Joey Krafchick....I was born in Alpharetta, Georgia and spent the first 20 years of my life in the area. Starting at a young age, I began participating in Scrabble tournaments, and that became my primary hobby for a long time. I reached expert level by age 13 and grandmaster level by age 19. Basketball became my second major passion once I was in high school, and I quickly became an NBA superfan as well as my high school game announcer/statistician and eventually a referee.

After graduating high school, I didn't really have much of a career path in mind. I went to Kennesaw State locally for a few years before dropping out and starting to work. I had an opportunity present itself in Dallas, Texas because of a generous friend who offered me a job to work at his small recruiting firm. I got a few years of work experience there, but eventually fizzled out with that and left, all while hanging around Dallas, a city I have much adoration for.

For a while I was just driving Uber in the DFW area while still not sure  what my future held. I eventually found a new interest and hobby: poker. I became a student of the game starting in 2019. By 2022 I was a pretty good player (it took a while!), but poker has its own drawbacks despite the fact that you can earn a decent hourly wage in cash games once you understand the strategy on an higher level. 

The poker world led me to meeting people in the sports betting space, and now I find myself working in several different configurations within the industry that allows me to monetize it and make a healthy living. Poker is something I merely dabble in occasionally now, because playing live poker is very challenging for me due to a very debilitating condition I accrued over time called "Decreased Sound Tolerance". Because of the DST, it also makes Scrabble tournaments rather unpleasant, so I mostly am a recluse who works just a few hours a day from home and spends the rest of the time consuming content and cuddling with my wonderful pit bull.
