About Me

My name is Joey Krafchick....I was born in Alpharetta, Georgia and spent the first 20 years of my life in the area. Starting at a young age, I began participating in Scrabble tournaments, and that became my primary hobby for a long time. I reached expert level by age 13 and grandmaster level by age 19. Basketball became my second passion once I was in high school, and I quickly became an NBA superfan as well as my high school game announcer/statistician, and eventually a referee.

After graduating high school, I didn't really have much of a career path in mind. I went to Kennesaw State locally for a few years before dropping out and starting to work. I had an opportunity present itself in Dallas, Texas because of a generous friend who offered me a job to work at his small recruiting firm. I got a few years of work experience there, but eventually fizzled out with that and left, all while hanging around Dallas, a city I have much adoration for.

For a while, I was driving Uber in the DFW area, while still not sure what my future held. I eventually found a new interest and hobby: poker. I became a student of the game starting in 2019. By 2022 I was a pretty decent player, but poker has its own drawbacks. Poker is now something I merely dabble in occasionally, because playing live poker is very challenging for me due to a very debilitating condition I accrued over time called "Decreased Sound Tolerance". My condition affects every aspect of my life, and all the decisions I have made about how I'm going to live out my life. 

The poker world led me to connections in the sports betting space, and now I find myself working in several different configurations within the industry. In addition to brokering bets, I do my own modeling. My modeling skills extend to NBA, NFL, and presidential elections.  In 2025, I retired from Scrabble, after a great 20 year playing career. I spend most of my time consuming content and cuddling with my wonderful pit bull. I am a film junkie and spend a lot of my time watching and writing stuff, and have mapped out several screenplays that I intend on eventually producing.
